Apply using a brush, refillable marker pen, or by wiping with a cloth.

Apply 3 coats to the part(s) you are priming, waiting 5 minutes between each coat and 10 minutes before installation. Heat the vinyl after installation to activate the primer.

What is 3M Primer 94?
3M Primer 94 works by applying it to the paint to improve adhesion. When you stretch and heat the vinyl, its adhesive properties weaken, but having applied Primer 94 to the paint helps ensure the vinyl adheres very well.

Imagine you’ve wrapped an entire door panel—you’re done, and it looks great—but the next day you notice the vinyl has peeled off, for example, in the recess behind the handle. It’s very frustrating to have to re-wrap the door because you didn’t apply primer beforehand.

When should you use 3M Primer 94?
When stretching the vinyl while applying intense heat—for example, when wrapping side mirrors, diffusers, recesses, sharp angles or curves—or when you’re stretching the vinyl a lot or applying a lot of heat.

Is it permanent?

No! 3M Primer 94 can be easily washed off with Tex Avery Adhesive Remover. It leaves no marks and does not damage the paint. However, you should be careful when removing the vinyl if the paint is in poor condition around the areas you’ve primed.
