Anyone who thinks a car’s paint is truly clean after washing and degreasing with a good cleaner will be disappointed. Bird droppings, tar, road grime, and fallout affect the paint and penetrate its open structure. A deep clean is therefore necessary. This moldable clay is made from petroleum resin with a mild abrasive added. This breaks down stubborn dirt—something that degreasers and cleaners cannot do.

Microscopically speaking, a car’s paint has an open structure where dirt settles. This cannot be removed using conventional methods or even with a steam wash. Space Clay is therefore an indispensable product for non-porous surfaces where an adhesive film needs to adhere exceptionally well. Think, for example, of edges, deep recesses, etc.

You can “feel” the dirt—To test whether the paint is seriously contaminated, do the following: Before using the clay, put a plastic bag over your hand and rub the surface of the car. The plastic bag allows your fingers to better feel the dirt. Now treat a small area with Space Clay, wipe it with a cloth, and then feel it again.
